Mike, these sound exactly like what I was looking for. Got a pair, new with charger, from Ebay for sixty dollars. Can you expand a little on the difficulty you had pairing them and any helpful hints that you can share in resolving this difficulty? _________________ Best regards

The major problem I had was figuring out the flashing LED codes and which button does what. The directions are on page 23 of the manual. To begin, turn both off and then turn only one of them on and get it to go into the Discoverable State (flashing Red and Blue LEDs). You then power on the second set while holding in the multi-function button and the Blue LED flashs. Supposedly the second Pod will seek out the first one and connect, but this is difficult if you don't have a way to test them both at the same time. I finally figured out I could wear one and scratch the mic on the second one with a fingernail to determine if they were connected. Good luck and when you figure it out let me know too.

Just received my Callpods and followed the directions, I pasted them in below, to pair them and had no problem at all. I think the trick is to hold the on button and multifunction button on unit b until the connection is established. In my case that was several seconds.
Thanks for recommending a reasonably priced solution ($30 each delivered to the house) to enhancing communication.
Connecting Two Callpods Dragon Headsets Together (2-way Communication Mode)
If you have two Dragon headsets, you can communicate headset-to-headset in full duplex over a 250,000 sq. foot [76,200 sq. meter] area (in open spaces). To connect two headsets together:
-Make sure Dragon A is in a discoverable state [flashing red and blue LED)
-Power off Dragon B.
-Power on Dragon B while holding the multifunction button. The blue LEDwill flash repeatedly.
After a few moments, Dragon B will seek out the other Dragon headset and automatically establish the connection. When the two Dragons are connected, either party can speak in full duplex (at the same time with no voice cancellation). To open or close the audio channel, press the multifunction button once (do not hold the button down). By using the multifunction button to open and close the channel. you will signiflcantly increase talk time versus having the audio channel open continuously. Either user can open or close the channel.
I did use your scratch and test method _________________ Best regards

Mike, are these stand alone units, i.e. no base unit that you have to wear on your hip or have stationary somewhere on the boat? _________________ Bob Findley GB42-1290 Classic

I purchased two new units. Each box contained a headset, large earbud, AC/DC wall adapter, car charger, usb cable, mini cable, pouch and a manual. The headsets work alone with each other (no phone or laptop needed) or to your laptop with bluetooth or your cell phone with bluetooth, or any combination thereof. Look at ebay for a very reasonable purchase.

One word of caution on the Pods. A bunch of these have been dumped on the market in past few months often at very low prices which makes them a great bargain, but in some cases the batteries were flat dead and could not be charged. I had such a pair, but they were under warranty and the factory replaced the batteries with no hassle and provided excellent service. All I needed was a copy of the purchase receipt. It was still a good deal even with the return problem.
