Without a doubt, the adventurous 38 Eastbay Express fast cruiser made a "big splash" in terms of style, performance and a quiet ride.

Of course, its featured "top-up or top-down" design was a major plus when it came to comfortable, all-weather cruising--an attribute that was highly prized by many Eastbay owner's.

Powered by a variety of diesel options, top speeds of over 30 knots were achievable. This was good news for those who liked to travel far and fast. Even better, the Eastbay 38 Express tracked well in a variety of conditions and maneuvered easily in tight spaces.

On deck, the Eastbay's cruising heritage was evident in its every line.

The varnished toerail highlights its traditional lines while the wide, non-skid side decks and sturdy stainless steel grab rails provided for additional "fast ride" security. You would have also found a thoughtfully organized station located on the raised helm deck that provided for superb visibility. Accessing the engine room was a breeze with the assistance of the electro-hydraulic hatch.

As with all Grand Banks yachts, the quality and care with which the Eastbay was constructed was clearly evident. To port, a well-equipped galley as well as generous storage and counter space made onboard living a pleasant cruising experience.

Across from the galley was a dining/salon area that featured a handsomely crafted teak table surrounded on three sides by a comfortable settee. Even better, the table could be lowered to create a double berth for overnight guests. As for the forward stateroom, one could have chose a traditional V-berth style or a double-size island bed.

Overall, a solid, long-term investment for those who desired both speed and comfort.
