The Alaskans did't stay in port much. They were travlers; seagoing vessels built to tackle any cruise you may have had in mind. But beyond that, they were luxury and comfort and home to their crews, and that's why we call them motorships.

The first impression when you stepped aboard the 49 Alaskan was one of elegant spaciousness, with teak parquet and fine teak furniture. The main saloon and aft deck combined as a 22-foot long complete entertainment center. A long two-way teak bar separated the saloon from the completely equipped galley.

A curving stairway led you to the spacious wheelhouse where family and friends could join the captain around the large "U" shaped settee with table, wet bar and icemaker.

The 49 Alaskan accommodated seven in four separate areas. The owner's stateroom featured a double bed, vanity and private head with marble counter, shower and tile tub.

You would have also been impressed by her way in the sea. Her deep forefoot, long keel, hard chine, 15'2" beam and 57,000 lb displacement resulted in an exceptionally rugged and able offshore motorship.
