The 55 Alaskan was a luxurious motorship, concieved to go to sea. Her traditional wheelhouse, bridge deck, walk-around side decks and spacious engine room helped to make her the ideal vessel for serious blue water cruising.

The Alaskan's large wheelhouse was typical of the thoughtful planning in her design. It was completed with watch berth, chart table, full instrumentation, a 30 inch wheel and functional port and starboard doors to the protected bridge deck. The wheelhouse was also a delightful social area with wet bar, ice maker and a comfortable "U" shaped settee with teak table.

A single-level living area over 23 feet in length was formed by the main saloon, the galley and the aft cockpit -- a superb, richly panelled area for living, dining and formal or casual entertaining. Solid teak double doors opened the saloon to the covered cockpit or you could separate them as you wish. Furnishings included a large "L" shaped settee with teak table that may be positioned for dining or as a coffee table, portable chairs, a writing desk and a large televison-stereo cabinet.

The bright, cheerful galley had a double stainless steel sink, a four-burner electric range with oven, and a 16 cubic foot duplex refrigerator-freezer. Expansive lockers were built in, including cabinets that opened to both the galley and the main saloon. The joinerywork was done in golden Burmese teak.

The master stateroom was a luxurious, private world furnished with a queen-size bed, expansive wardrobe lockers, a vanity and bureau all in superb hand finished teak. Additionally, there were two guest staterooms, each having two berths and their own private head. Like the owner's suite, the guest's staterooms were beautifully appointed with teak paneling and built-in teak lockers and bureaus. To starboard, a shower served both of these cabins.

The 55 Alaskan was designed to be a luxurious, spacious live-aboard vessel, and yet a rugged offshore motorship exceeding every requirement for safety and dependability. She had dependable twin diesel engines, ranging for over 1,800 miles.
